National Results will be published below

What to expect

Once you download the Groov App and enable notifications, each day you will get a question like ‘Over the last 7 days, I’ve put time into my friendships.’

Based on the answers you give, Groov will celebrate what you’re doing great, and help highlight ways you can further put things into your day to look after you.

And, along with exploring the app, your answers will anonymised and aggregated to provide a national snapshot of how we’re all doing!

Building up a national picture

We’ll pull together the results each day and present them on this check-in page so you can see how other Kiwis responded! This helps us understand where we are doing great as a nation, and what things we could do with a little more support on! And what better time to kick this off this than during Mental Health Awareness Week. Let’s go!

Results: The NZ Check- In

Thanks to all of you who have joined the NZ Check-In. We are busy analysing the results of the NZ Check-In and the full Wellbeing Quiz sent out at the end of #MHAW24!

REFLECT

Day 1 - How often are you putting things in your day to take care of your mental health?

Our quick take on the data so far: There’s almost 25% of respondents doing almost nothing for their mental health. Building protective mental health practices into your day is so important so there is room to move here.

CONNECTION

Day 2 - Over the past 7 days, I’ve felt close to other people

Our quick take on the data so far: with 12% responding saying they are rarely or not feeling close to others there is work to be done here especially with the incredible connection theme for MHAW24 this year. The good news is this figure has shifted the right way as it was 30% back in 2021.

CHILL

Day 3 - Over the past 7 days, I’ve been able to calm my mind

Our quick take on the data so far: this is an improvement from our pandemic data in 2021 when we know stress and anxiety were heightened, but the importance of having those tools to calm your mind every day are so important so you can be present with friends and family and stave off burnout. The Groov App has plenty of tool & tips here!

DO

Day 4 - Over the past 7 days, I’ve spent time on hobbies or interests

Our quick take on the data so far: this is a similar result to our 2021 data so far, but having things in your day and week you enjoy is a great way to calm the mind, for connection and for overall mental health.
