Voices of Mentemia: Jazz Thornton joins our mission to boost everyday mental wellbeing
Mentemia brings on new voices to inspire and reach more people.
Our mission is to help millions of people improve their mental wellbeing.
To make this happen we want to reach as many people as we can and have many different voices in our platform, from all walks of life. That’s why we created Voices of Mentemia ⏤ our new collection of heroes, activists, experts and advocates that passionately believe in our mission. And we’re thrilled to announce our very first Voice of Mentemia, Jazz Thornton! She’s a mental health activist, author, director, and co-founder of mental health charity Voices of Hope.
Jazz is excited to be a Voice of Mentemia, has been using the app for months, contributing video and written content for the app, and spreading the word at speaking engagements.
As JK candidly admits, he’s a “middle-aged white guy” and understands that while his voice and messages resonates with many people, it might not resonate with everyone. That’s why it was so important to him and the Mentemia team to bring more voices into the fold - people of different ages, genders, ethnicities, social backgrounds, as their lived experiences will add a depth and richness to our app.
JK and Jazz caught up to chat about this and much more.
Check out the full interview below.
You’ll see a lot more of Jazz in the app, on the blog, and on our social channels like Facebook and Instagram. We’re sure you’ll find Jazz just as energising and inspiring as we do.
And if you’re not a millennial like Jazz, it might help you understand the voice of other millennials in your life, whether that’s your kids, colleagues or family members.
Welcome Jazz! Thank you for joining our mission and being a champion for mental wellbeing.
This is just the beginning ⏤ we’ll be sharing more people and new Voices of Mentemia with you soon. We can’t wait to see the ripple effect around Voices of Mentemia as we have more people join us.
