What’s New: Level up your mental wellbeing with new Courses

Learn new skills and dive deeply into topics with Courses in the Mentemia app.

We’ve released a new feature in Mentemia called Courses!

Courses are here to help you learn new skills and take a deep dive into different areas that can help your mental wellbeing.

Our Courses are developed by a team of experts, including Health Psychology Specialist Dr Fiona Crichton and Clinical Psychologist Dr Daniel Farrant, and our very knowledgeable and skilled content specialists.

In the Courses you’ll see some familiar faces ⏤ including Sir John Kirwan himself and Voices of Mentemia like Jazz Thornton. We’ll also be working with some incredible experts on different subjects, so watch this space.

What Courses are available now?

We have launched Learning to Slow Down and Finding Calm to kick things off!

Learning to Slow Down 🐢

Ever feel like you’re not really living in the moment or even missing out because you’re moving too fast?

This course is about learning how to take life at a slower pace and the benefits for your wellbeing.

We’ll look at ways you can slow down during the day or week to find more pleasure and be more present, and less stressed and more calm.

Slow and steady can help you win the race. Taking it slow might not sound productive, but it can help us approach things more calmly and take the time we need to do them well. This is a great way to reduce stress ⏤ which is good for mental wellbeing AND productivity!

Finding Calm 🙏

How are you breathing right now? We don’t often consciously think about our breathing or notice the changes to our breathing when we’re relaxed or busy.

The way we breathe can have a profound effect on how we feel. This Course is designed to help you improve your breath training skills and find more calm in daily life.

Explore how breathing can help soothe your system and help you relax. Take this Course to be guided through how to practice diaphragmatic breathing (also known as deep breathing or belly breathing).

The beautiful thing about breathing skills is being able to use them anywhere, anytime.

So how do Courses work and where can I find them?

There are two ways to find Courses in the Mentemia app: Courses and My Courses.

Courses is where you’ll find all the available options. To check them out, go to Training > Courses.

My Courses is where you’ll find your favourite saved courses.

To save a Course to ‘My Courses’ click the heart button in the top right corner. ❤️You’ll then be able to find it by going to Me > My Courses.

Not sure what Course to choose first? You can see:

  • How many steps are in the Course

  • How much time the Course will take to complete (Some are short and sweet, others are longer and more in-depth)

  • And the category of the Course related to Mentemia’s 6 pillars of mental wellbeing (Chill, Do, Connect, Move, Celebrate, Enjoy)

To start a Course, simply click into it and complete the first step.

Our Courses are designed to be done step by step, so make sure you complete each part before trying to move on to the next. You’ll find a mix of videos, articles, tools, infographics and more.

Once you’ve completed a Course there will be a confetti party in the app 🎊🥳🎉and your progress bar will be full.

And there’s more coming soon!

We’re just getting started with our first two Courses.

The team are creating useful and engaging Courses for you to enjoy and expand your wellbeing knowledge, so be sure to check back in the app from time to time to see what’s new!
