Kin x Groov
at a glance

Groov supports the Kin team with resilience, self-kindness, taking breaks, moving, continuous learning, and more.

Feedback from Kin’s people is overwhelmingly positive, with 80-90% engaged with the Groov platform.

The Kin team interacts with Groov every week when working remotely and most days when in the office.

Why Groov?

After a tough couple of years during the pandemic, Kin Founder & Managing Director Wendy Alexander realised her team was struggling with resilience. She began looking for a mental wellbeing partner that could provide an additional layer of support.

“Before I came across Groov, we were doing work in the resilience space, but we would need to get an external facilitator to come in and do a workshop. And that was wonderful, but it was kind of a half-day here and half-day there. What I love about Groov is that it’s one platform – it’s alive, all the time.

Wendy Alexander, Founder & Managing Director

Wendy felt they needed an ‘always on’ solution to mental wellbeing. She likes that Groov works seamlessly for remote teams and that everyone has access to the platform.

The launch

Kin started with Groov’s Workplace Temperature Check Survey. This anonymous survey goes out to all employees and provides insight into what’s going well and areas for improvement.

“I loved the survey. That really, to me, was the foundational block on which we built our rituals, and our understanding of what we need to focus on.”

Following the survey, Kin rolled out the Groov App, as well as the Ritual Builder and Modules. One of the team’s favourite initiatives so far is ‘Wheel of Kindness Thursday’, where everyone spins the Wheel of Kindness in the Groov App and shares what kind activity they’ll do that day.

Kin finds its Groov

Within just one month of launching, Wendy already noticed a vast improvement in her team’s mental wellbeing and an employee engagement rate of 80-90%.

“We went live with Groov in June, and by July/August I definitely noticed more lightness of heart across the team.”

Wendy believes this is because Groov is an ‘always on’ platform. She loves the daily wellbeing notifications and articles in the Groov App, and the way her team has embraced their weekly rituals in the Groov Ritual Builder. People are also enjoying the Groov Modules with videos and activities to help them look after themselves.

She’s looking forward to rolling out the next Groov survey and tracking how Kin’s workplace wellbeing improves over time.

“It’s no secret it’s been a tough couple of years. I’ve found using Groov really straightforward and easy. It’s that lovely lightness of spirit, that we all need right now, that I’ve noticed since using Groov.”
