Groov CEO travels to Australia for trade mission with Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern
Groov CEO and co-founder Adam Clark is visiting Melbourne and Sydney this week to promote New Zealand and Australia business relations.
Groov CEO Adam Clark is joining Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and 30 business delegates to champion New Zealand trade across the Tasman this week. The trade mission starts today (Monday 4 July) in Melbourne and wraps up this Friday in Sydney.
Regional Director at New Zealand Trade and Enterprise in Australia, Glen Murphy, is looking forward to strengthening Australia and New Zealand’s business-to-business links, as well as celebrating NAIDOC Week (3-10 July).
“Australia is one of New Zealand’s most vital export markets. The fact we have so many business leaders joining us for this trade mission demonstrates the value our exporters place on this market, and we know that Australians in-turn value the innovative goods and services we offer,” says Mr Murphy.
"We also recognise the significance of having the delegation in Australia during NAIDOC week and we look forward to celebrating the history and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples during the week.”
Mr Murphy is hosting the delegates alongside NZTE Investment Director Andrew McGowan, Sydney Trade Commissioner Hamish Campbell, and Melbourne Trade Commissioner Bella Katz.
The agenda for the week includes business briefings on the Victoria and NSW economies, a panel lunch about innovation and creativity, a media launch at David Jones, and several networking opportunities. The Prime Minister will also be giving a speech at the Australia New Zealand Leadership Forum.
For Groov CEO Adam Clark, this trip comes hot off the heels of the Workplace Wellness Festival in Sydney (22-23 June), where Groov was proud title sponsor engaging with the 2,500 festival delegates.
Adam is delighted to raise further awareness of Groov after an incredible response at the wellness event. He’s looking forward to having more insightful conversations with leaders about workplace wellbeing.
“Workplace wellbeing is top of mind for organisations all around the world right now and Australia is no exception. Almost all the leaders I speak to are facing challenges around burnout, talent retention, and psychological safety. Workplace wellbeing is a huge part of the solution – and that’s where Groov comes in,” says CEO Adam Clark.
“We give workplaces the tools they need to look after their people and adjust to this new era of workplace wellbeing. The world of work is changing rapidly and Groov is here to help.”
Groov launched in Australia in 2020 and continues to resonate deeply with Australian organisations and their people. Some of Groov’s customers in Australia include Fletcher Building Australia, the NSW Department of Planning & Environment, and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
Adam and Groov co-founder Sir John Kirwan travel to Australia regularly to meet with Groov customers and lead conversations about workplace wellbeing. Sir John Kirwan, a long-time mental health advocate, recently opened up to Australian audiences about his own wellbeing journey in an incredibly candid, vulnerable interview on the Matty Johns Podcast.
Although Sir John isn’t travelling as part of this delegation (he’s currently road tripping around New Zealand to raise awareness about mental health), his vision for Groov will be.
“Our mission at Groov is to help 100 million people with their daily mental wellbeing and save 100,000 lives,” says Sir John.
“And this mission starts in the workplace. Caring for your people is the right thing to do, and it’s good for business. The link is clear, if you take the time to properly bake wellbeing into the workplace, the current issues around talent retention, recruitment, stress, and burnout will hugely decrease or disappear.”
